First day starts tomorrow, June 7, 2010

Exactly 100 days from tomorrow, September 14th, will be my 25th wedding anniversary. In the last year I have lost 24 pounds but I still have 30 to go. I lost the 24 pounds a year ago and have kept them off but I am having a hard time getting those next 30 pounds off. I have decided to blog and hope that having accountability to anyone reading these posts will give me the incentive to take the rest off!
I belong to a great exercise program run by two personal trainers, Debbie and Jane. They give us an intense workout 2 times a week. I walk at lunch time but I need to be more consistent. My real problem is my eating. I don't have a regular eating schedule and dinner is rarely made in this house. It's grab whatever you can find and I usually go after the crackers and cheese and/or peanut butter. Flour tortillas are a favorite also. I am a starch addict! Fruits and vegetables are a rarity in this house so I have a lot of changes to make.
We also just found out the my husband's cholesterol is way too high. He's on medication so another hope with this blog is to start eating healthier and get his cholesterol down by our anniversary. That would be a fantastic anniversary gift for me, knowing I will have him around for a lot more years.
As I blog on how I'm doing I will post any recipes I come across that are healthy, low fat and low calorie. I think that will be a challenge, my husband is a meat and potatoes person and has a huge sweet tooth. I hope anyone reading this will help by posting any recipes they might have. I am also going to journal my food consumption each day. Accountability! Keep me honest. If I don't post, get on me because that means I'm cheating! That also goes for my exercise. I am going to step it up.
Right now I weigh 150 pounds. My doctor says I should try for 120. If I get to my goal I may be able to get into my wedding dress. I will post pictures if that happens. Wish me luck. I will post tomorrow with my exact weight. I hope this will be a successful journey.
